Scope and Contents
A Miami-Peoria dictionary, by Daryl Baldwin and David J. Costa. A compilation of hundreds of example sentences drawn from the original records illustrating the use of words in the Miami-Peoria language. Word-building processes are accompanied by illustrations, plus dialect information, place names, and an extensive guide to the pronunciation and spelling of the language can all be found. An essential tool for students of the Miami-Peoria language, as well as for people studying the culture of the Miami and Peoria people, or Algonquian languages in general.
