The Osage Tribal Council is concerned about a moratorium on Indian land transactions imposed by the Secretary of the Interior, which they feel is too broad and restrictive. They believe that certain exceptions should be made to allow for normal and necessary land transactions that do not result in lands leaving Indian ownership. They request that the Committee be made aware of the potential damages that could result from the current situation.
