Scope and Contents

A Bureau of Indian Affairs news release announcing that new legislation, Public Law 94-114, signed by President Ford on October 17, 1975, added 370,000 acres of land to Indian tribal holdings. The land was originally purchased by the United States in the 1930s and was transferred to 17 Indian tribes for better management and use.
