The text contains a letter from carl e. Pittman to the commission of the five civilized tribes, in which he requests information about his great-grandmother Sallie a. Vaughans Choctaw citizenship application. He includes a transcript of her hearings before the commission in 1900 and 1902, as well as affidavits from three people who knew her and her husband, henry Latham.
