The text contains a letter from Richard e. Fitzgerald to James r. Jones, in which Fitzgerald asks jones to protest the proposed closure of the Sequoyah Indian off reservation boarding school in Tahlequah, oklahoma. Fitzgerald cites the importance of the school in providing education and training to young Indian boys and girls who would otherwise drop out of public schools, and argues that the government should invest in the school now rather than pay for the consequences of its closure later. Fitzgerald closes by praising jones for his work as a congressman.
