Scope and Contents
James Overton, president of the inter-tribal council of the five civilized tribes, wrote to congressman James jones to express his opposition to cuts to the employment assistance program in eastern oklahoma. He enclosed a copy of a letter he had sent to the bureau of Indian affairs on the issue. He urged the congressman to follow up with the Bia and let him know if he could be of any assistance.
