"Creek Nation of Oklahoma Educational Program at Risk of Termination", 1976-06-30
Scope and Contents
The text contains a letter from Congressman Berkley Bedell to Jim Jones, in which he alerts Jones to the fact that funding for a educational program for the Creek Tribe of Oklahoma is in jeopardy. Bedell explains that the program is one of fifteen that the Department of Education feels should be continued, but due to a technicality, the Department is not allowed to use discretionary funding to keep the program going. Bedell asks Jones to attend a meeting with Commissioner Bell in order to try and find a solution to the problem.
