The EPA's Plan to Re-Register the Toxic Pesticide 1080, 1982-06-23 - 1982-08-31
Scope and Contents
The text describes the situation surrounding the use of 1080, a toxic pesticide, to kill coyotes. Under the Carter administration, the use of 1080 was banned. However, under the current administration of Secretary Watt, its use is allowed in certain circumstances. The EPA is considering re-registering 1080, and has held public hearings on the issue. The author of the letter is urging the Secretary of State to reinstate the ban on 1080, and is also urging the EPA not to re-register the pesticide.
