By far the largest series in the Synar collection, Legislative contains some 82,809 items that cover a wide range of materials and the congressman's full tenure in office.

Contains materials including a speech pertaining to PAC involvement in campaign financing and various other materials used to inform the speech such as Synar's own campaign finance statistics, a memo, and a section of a CRS report.

Contains several items which discuss acid rain, clean air, and the ozone layer.

Contains legislative information and articles on the Group of Nine compromise for the Clean Air Act.

Contains a large proposal previously bound together (3rd item in folder). The first two items were contained in the binding, sitting on top of the proposal.

Contains testimony, news releases from the National Association of Broadcaster, copies of clippings, and other documents pertaining to a 1987 April 7 hearing before the Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Finance of the Committee on Energy and Commerce concerning the Fairness Doctrine, including testimony given by Phyllis Schlafly.
