Contains materials from Synar's first campaign in 1978, including his statement announcing his candidacy, various newspaper clippings, and brochures. The folder also contains news releases and clippings from his first term in office regarding accomplishments and awards.

Contains the published report of the Democratic National Committee detailing the presidential nomination process of the party to be used in 1984.

Contains a pre-publications copy of a report presenting statistics from the 1980 census in reference to congressional districts of the 98th Congress.

This folder, previously housed in a folder titled "Debate", contains preparation and reference materials for Synar's debate against Gary Richardson. Contents include Synar's opening and closing statements and materials about key issues, including the proposed Republican budget. Includes numerous notes and annotations in Synar's hand.

Contains materials that appear to have been compiled to refute attacks leveled by Christian Voice about Synar's voting record during the 1980 campaign. These materials address many key issues but focus in particular on Synar's votes on defense spending, balancing the budget, abortion, and school prayer. Also included is a letter from the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) endorsing Mike Synar as a candidate in 1980.

Contains multiple newspaper articles, reference materials, and position statements from 1980. Of particular note are Synar's responses to an inquiry from the Tulsa Tribune about his positions and a response prepared in rebuttal to Gary Richardson's interview on KWON.
