Proposed Amendments to Land Use Policy and Planning Assistance Act of 1973

The American Institute of Architects presented draft amendment proposals to the Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs regarding the Land Use Policy and Planning Assistance Act of 1973. These proposals include increasing the Federal share for land use planning grants, mechanisms for statewide land use planning, sanctions for states not eligible for grants, and establishing national land use policies. Congressman James R. Jones thanked the Institute for their assistance and stated that he will review the proposals further.
