The race comes down to this. Dick Gephardt, who voted against raising the minimum wage, against working people, but for Reagan's corporate giveaways. Mike Dukakis, whose inexperience has led Time magazine to call his foreign policy mushy and unsophisticated. Jesse Jackson, who has never worked in government. Or Al Gore, who's voted for better wages, stood up to powerful interests, and is a leading expert on arms control. If you want a president who will stand up for the people who make this country work, elect Tennessee's Al Gore. These groups don't want Al Gore to be president. Why? Because when chemical companies poisoned neighborhoods with toxic waste, Al Gore made the companies pay to clean up the mess. And when big corporations fixed the price of fuel, Al Gore made the companies give the money back. And when drug companies wanted the elderly to pay too much for their prescriptions, Al Gore said no. Some talk, Al Gore acts. If you want a president who will stand up for the people who make this country work, elect Tennessee's... Al Gore.
