You know, if a youngster in this country sees people in positions of authority playing by a different set of rules, if that makes him lose faith in the system, then he's going to leave the system and we're going to lose a life. And often these days we're losing those lives to drugs. Right now, what are we doing to help our children find a future without drugs? And what does a parent say to his children when our own government is doing business with a drug pirate in Panama? You know, since 1984, drug use in the public schools in my state has gone down because we got our children involved with their parents and teachers and with law enforcement officers. Why can't that happen in every community in America? Why can't we make drug-free schools our goal for the 1990s? We love our children in this country. We can't settle for less than that. I hope he wins.
