As a nation, 212 years old, we're very young, but we're getting out of shape. Instead of being the world champions in international markets, we're now second or third. Instead of leading the world in education, we're sixth or seventh. Instead of people owing us, we owe them. How did we let this happen? Well, I think instead of looking for new answers, we went with the old ones. Instead of doing the right thing, we began doing the easy thing. And now we're in danger of falling behind. I'm not going to let that happen. I won't let our proud young nation spend the next four years sitting on the couch. I believe the best America is yet to come. I believe the best America is yet to come.
