Scope and Contents

This document contains a statement by the Oklahoma members of the House of the Representatives on House Concurrent Resolution 108, which intended to free a listed group of Native American tribes from federal supervision and control. The members argued for an exception for the Osage Tribe by reason of the Act of June 24, 1938, which extended federal supervision and control over the Osage Tribal estate until April 08, 1983, in the case of reserved tribal minerals, and provided that the period of restriction against alienation should continue to January 01, 1984.
