Muskie for President Stevenson, MSS-72-1-30, a 30-second commercial. My father's inspiration in politics was Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln always spoke to the decencies and to the good sense of people, never to their fears, never to their hates. He always sought to unite, never to disunite people. That's what my father did. As he put it, he tried to talk sense. That's what Senator Muskie does. He talks sense.
