Scope and Contents

The National Endowment for the Arts has completed the grant award phase for the "City Options" program, which focuses on enhancing urban settings in communities of all sizes. A total of 149 grants were awarded out of 690 applications, totaling $3.2 million. Projects will take place in 43 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, with a focus on historical preservation and creative solutions for urban problems. The program has been designated a bicentennial activity and has received strong support from government entities. Additionally, a grant of $9,600 was awarded to the University of Oklahoma for a regional planning program in Watonga, Oklahoma.
