Waldo E. McIntosh has been reappointed as the principal chief of the Creek Indian Tribe of Oklahoma for a two-year term starting in October 1963. He is a former lumber dealer and descendant of prominent Creek leaders. His reappointment was recommended by a unanimous vote of the Creek Indian Council. The principal chief does not receive a salary but is reimbursed for travel expenses. The authority to appoint the principal chief was delegated to the Secretary of the Interior in 1951.
