Correspondence Regarding Rejection of Bid on Mineral Rights of Mary Ellis Burrt, Ponca No. 343, 1958-01-09

Scope and Contents

Howard Anderson's bid on mineral interests involving a part of the original allotment of Mary Ellis Burt, Ponca No. 343 was rejected. The Bureau of Indian Affairs explained that the notice Anderson received was not a notification of high bid, but to ascertain how he wanted the deed drafted. The bid rejection was due to a misunderstanding, and Anderson was refunded his deposit. If the owners decide to readvertise the property, Anderson will have an opportunity to submit a new bid.
