Letter to Senator Elmer Thomas Regarding the Sale of Indian Timber Lands, 1937-01-01 - 1937-12-31

Scope and Contents

An Indian is concerned about the Department of Interior selling valuable timbered lands in the Eastern part of the state at their 1912 appraised value, without considering the additional value the timber has gained in the past 25 years. They believe the Government has neglected the timber and allowed it to be removed for commercial purposes. The Indian requests that the sale be postponed until an investigation is conducted and a part of the mineral rights on the land is reserved.
