An Open Letter to the U.S. Senator on Unfair Sale of Indian Timber Lands, 1937-01-01 - 1937-12-31
Scope and Contents
The letter is from Robert Herry null, an Indian concerned about the sale of valuable timbered lands in the Eastern part of the state. He believes that the land and timber should be sold at a higher value due to the growth of the timber since it was appraised in 1912. He also expresses concern about the government neglecting the timber and allowing people to remove it for commercial purposes. Robert requests that the sale be postponed until an investigation is conducted and the mineral rights are reserved.
