Scope and Contents

W. F. Hendrix inquired about per capita payments to the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes of Oklahoma. The Indian Office advised against distributing the funds in small per capita shares, suggesting that the money be conserved for projects benefiting the general Indian population. Senator Elmer Thomas forwarded the response to Hendrix and received acknowledgment from the Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
