Scope and Contents
The text includes a series of letters between individuals regarding the appointment of the Chief of the Choctaw Nation. Senator Elmer Thomas expresses his interest in Indian affairs and willingness to consider recommendations for the appointment. Ben Dwight, the Principal Chief, expresses appreciation for Senator Thomas' efforts. Another individual, Joshua Anderson, requests that the new Chief be a resident of the Choctaw Nation and actively involved in welfare work among the Indians.
