1936 Letter to Congressman Blanton Regarding Cherokee Tribe Charges, 1936-05-27
Scope and Contents
A response to Congressman Blanton regarding charges filed by individuals claiming to represent the Cherokee Indian Tribe of North Carolina. The galley proof of the charges is being studied by the Committee of Indian Affairs, and a decision on whether to proceed with an investigation will be made soon. The Commissioner of Indian Affairs has been asked to review the charges and provide a reply, after which final consideration and action will be taken by the Committee.
