Scope and Contents
The letter is a correspondence between Grover Blackstone, a Freight Agent for The Pennsylvania Railroad, and Elmer Thomas, Chairman of the Committee on Indian Affairs in the U.S. Senate. Blackstone is requesting Thomas to surrender a government bill of lading for a shipment of furniture from the Flandreau Indian School, and Thomas responds that he has received the bill of lading but is unable to send it at that time. Thomas also requests information regarding the articles received from the Indian School.
