1946 Petition from Lukachukai District Officers Highlighting Navajo Community Needs, 1946-03-06
Scope and Contents
The officers of Lukashenka District are petitioning for better educational facilities and healthcare for their community. They stress the need for a larger school or additional day schools to accommodate all the children in the area, as well as the need for a hospital to provide medical care closer to home. They also highlight the challenges of transporting food and fuel to the isolated community and request for an all-weather road to be built.
