Scope and Contents

John Loco, a member of the Apache tribe in Oklahoma, wrote a letter to Senator Elmer Thomas requesting help in filing a separate claim for financial relief for the Apache's who were captured and made prisoners of war for 28 years. Senator Thomas agreed to cooperate and suggested contacting Senator Donnie Chaves, who represents New Mexico and is a member of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. A copy of the letter was also sent to Sam Houser, another member of the Apache tribe in Oklahoma.
