Correspondence and Meeting Updates Regarding the Sale of Choctaw-Chickasaw Nation Coal-Asphalt Lands in 1946, 1946-11-13
Scope and Contents
Mrs. Agnes Billey inquired about the sale of coal-asphalt lands of the Choctaw-Chickasaw nation, but was informed that no sale had yet been submitted for approval. The Pontotoc county Choctaw-Chickasaw Confederation reelected officers and planned to address important matters such as Indian claims and tribal funds at their upcoming meeting. The organization is working towards obtaining per capita distribution of funds held by the interior department and further progress on the coal-asphalt lands sale deed.
