The letter is from William A. Smark to Wesley L. Robertson regarding a request made in January 1945 to pay each enrolled Choctaw and Chickasaw tribe member $20 from funds in the U.S. treasury. There is also mention of a moral judgement against the government for $8.5 million and a disagreement on the value of coal and asphalt resources.
