Scope and Contents
Benjamin Brinkley wrote a letter to Senator Elmer Thomas requesting information about the sale of Choctaw-Chickasaw tribal mineral lands. The Office of Indian Affairs responded, stating that negotiations for the sale are ongoing and that a contract will be executed and submitted to the tribes for approval. They assured Brinkley that he will be notified of any updates and that further correspondence on the matter may not be necessary. Senator Thomas also forwarded Brinkley's letter to the Office of Indian Affairs for consideration.
