Correspondence Regarding Atoka Agreement and Tribal Estate Adjustment, 1946-04-25
Scope and Contents
Mrs. G. Horton sent a postcard to Elmer Thomas regarding the "Atoka Agreement" concerning the purchase of asphalt and coal deposits from the Chickasaw-Choctaw Tribes of Indians. Elmer Thomas explains that the contract is being drawn and will be submitted to the tribes for consideration and vote. He states that he will work to get the contract ratified by Congress and the necessary funds appropriated once approved. Mrs. Horton requests that old debts be paid and expresses her desire for the agreement to be upheld.
