Negotiations Regarding the Sale of Chickasaw and Choctaw Coal and Asphalt Lands, 1947-03-25
Scope and Contents
Culberson expressed interest in the sale of coal and asphalt lands belonging to the Chickasaw and Choctaw Tribes. The Department of the Interior suggested a low price, leading to a new appraisal. The findings will be discussed at a conference on April 28th. Culberson inquired about the status of the bill authorizing the sale, as it has been pending for 20 years. Senator Thomas assured him that updates will be provided after the conference.
