Correspondence on the Proposed Sale of Choctaw-Chickasaw Coal and Asphalt Deposits, 1946, 1946-04-15
Scope and Contents
Sturdivant inquired about the status of the proposed sale of the Choctaw-Chickasaw coal and asphalt deposits. The Secretary of the Interior is considering a report on the value of the deposits. Once a contract is agreed upon and signed by tribal officials, it will be presented to the tribes for approval and then to Congress for final approval. Senator Thomas will keep Sturdivant updated on the progress of the sale.
