Scope and Contents

Ms. Janet Greenawalt wrote to Senator Fred Harris expressing her interest in working on an Indian reservation or teaching at an Indian school. Senator Harris contacted the Bureau of Indian Affairs on her behalf to inquire about summer employment opportunities. The Bureau informed Senator Harris that preference is given to individuals with Indian ancestry for summer positions and provided information on how Ms. Greenawalt could apply for a teaching position. Senator Harris assured Ms. Greenawalt that he would keep her updated on any developments.
