FBI Investigation Report on Assault Incident at Chilocco Indian School, 1971, 1971-11-08
Scope and Contents
The letter from J. Edgar Hoover of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to Senator Fred R. Harris discusses an investigation conducted at the Chilocco Indian School in Oklahoma. The investigation was based on an assault on a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer by students at the school. The Assistant United States Attorney declined to prosecute the case, suggesting that the school administration handle it. A group of adults later demanded that the officer be terminated and the suspended students reinstated.
