Scope and Contents
Senator Harris received a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bunch expressing concerns about the welfare of Native Americans, specifically those at the Chilocco Indian School. Senator Harris assured them of his continued interest in helping Native Americans and mentioned pending bills and projects to benefit them. He also mentioned a study commissioned by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to address the problems of Indian education, including those at Chilocco. Eagleboy, on behalf of the Oklahoma Indian people, also requested Senator Harris' support in addressing the needs of the Chilocco Indian School and the Indian children it serves.
