Scope and Contents

Mrs. Willie B. Carter, a neighborhood youth counselor in Louisiana, wrote to LaDonna Harris, Chairman of the Women's Advisory Council on Poverty, expressing interest in the programs sponsored by her organization. LaDonna Harris responded, thanking Mrs. Carter for her letter and suggesting ways for her to be of service, such as working with local community action agencies and involving her community in anti-poverty programs. Harris also expressed interest in learning more about Mrs. Carter's programs with young people in Shreveport.
