Postponement of California Conference on Women in the War on Poverty Due to Congressional Deliberations, 1967-12-02
Scope and Contents
The Executive Office of the President's Western Regional Office in San Francisco is postponing a California Conference on Women in the War on Poverty due to Congressional delays in approving funding. The purpose of the conference is to focus on the needs of disadvantaged families in California and to discuss anti-poverty programs. Participants will include representatives from community action agencies, women's organizations, minority groups, and federal agencies. The program includes panel discussions, presentations on federal programs, and opportunities for discussion and feedback. The office hopes that women's organizations will assist in underwriting the conference expenses for low-income women to attend.
