Scope and Contents
Mrs. Phillip Dye from the Putnam City Methodist Church in Oklahoma City invited LaDonna Harris to speak at their monthly meeting in March 1968 on the topic of "The American Indian-His Heritage and Emerging Identity." LaDonna Harris declined the invitation due to scheduling conflicts but recommended contacting Mrs. Iola Taylor for a suitable speaker. Mrs. Dye requested assistance in finding a speaker for their event, focusing on the challenges and progress of Native Americans. LaDonna Harris offered to help in any way she could and shared information on the work of the OIO.
