Scope and Contents

The Southwestern Cooperative Educational Laboratory, Inc. was established under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to address educational needs in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and New Mexico. The Laboratory has a decentralized structure with Area Directors in each state, and its programs focus on research, innovation, and addressing regional education challenges. The Laboratory operates workshops for teachers and school board members, and plans to address issues such as cultural diversity and teacher training. Dr. Paul V. Petty, with extensive experience in education, serves as the Laboratory Director. The Laboratory aims to work collaboratively with various educational agencies and groups to improve education in the region.
