Discussion on Corporate Membership in Laboratories and Pre-reading Skills Development, 1967-01-01 - 1967-12-31
Scope and Contents
Dr. Francis S. Chase, the chairman of the National Laboratories Advisory Committee, visited the Albuquerque office of SWCEL to review their program and organization. The issue of corporate memberships in laboratories, whether they should consist of individuals or organizations, was discussed. The laboratory ultimately decided on the individual membership approach. The laboratory is also planning a study to improve pre-reading skills for primary level reading. The National Science Foundation has funding available for high school teachers to attend summer institutes to learn new teaching techniques. Materials for language skills teaching are available from various sources. The SWCEL staff also attended a meeting in New Orleans to review current operations and discuss long-range programming.
