Scope and Contents
The document is a series of correspondence regarding allegations of mismanagement and discrimination in the Indian Housing Program of the Cherokee Nation. The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation denies the allegations and defends their selection process for developers. The Department of Housing and Urban Development also responds to complaints and states that there is no jurisdictional remedy for the complainant's discrimination claims. Congressman Ted Risenhoover's allegations are refuted and the Housing Authority welcomes inspection of their program.
