Scope and Contents

Mrs. LaDonna Harris, wife of U.S. Senator Fred R. Harris, was awarded the "Shield Award" for her work in promoting Indian arts and culture. She is the president of Oklahomans for Indian Opportunity and has been involved in various civic and public affairs. LaDonna Harris has also been named chairman of the Women's Advisory Committee on Poverty and is a member of Task Force VI of the Joint Commission on Mental Health of Children.
