Scope and Contents
The Executive Committee meeting of Americans for Indian Opportunity, Inc. took place on September 18, 1972. Discussions were held regarding the Native American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the Dallas American Indian Center, the American Indian Theatre Ensemble, and the Minority Enterprise Small Business Investment Company. James MacDonald was selected as the next Executive Director of AIO. A new employee, Syd Bean, was introduced to provide technical assistance in Chicago. The committee also discussed funding for Mr. Bean and approved the Chicago project. The meeting concluded with discussions on the need for Indian representation on the CPI Board and the progress of AIO's new funding proposal.
