Scope and Contents

LaDonna Harris, on behalf of the AIO Action Council, expresses gratitude for the $5,000 grant received for the Menominee legislation. They are in need of additional funds to represent American Indians on various issues and are unable to receive tax-exempt funds. The organization lobbies on legislative issues, publishes a Legislative Alert, and wants to move into voter registration. Funds are urgently needed for travel expenses for American Indians to testify before Congressional committees. The focus is on restoring government services and tribal recognition for the Menominee Indians of Wisconsin. Harris expresses gratitude for past support and looks forward to continued collaboration.
