Correspondence Regarding Indian Affairs and the Prisoner Rehabilitation Program in 1971, 1970-10-22
Scope and Contents
Reverend Arthur Stoneking wrote to Senator Fred Harris expressing concerns about the Indian Center, Inc. and their involvement in a prison parolee program. Stoneking outlined various allegations against the Indian Center, including misuse of funds and lack of community acceptance. He also raised suspicions about conflicts of interest involving individuals associated with the Indian Center. Stoneking questioned the credibility of the Bureau of Indian Affairs' decision to award the program contract to the Indian Center and requested further investigation into the matter.
