Scope and Contents
Luther Deere's daughter, Edith Scott Deere, applied for financial aid from the Bureau of Indian Affairs Higher Education Program but was declared ineligible due to their family income exceeding the threshold. The Bureau believes in assisting students based on financial need and provided a booklet listing scholarships for American Indian youth. Senator Fred R. Harris is following up on Mr. Deere's request for assistance.
