Scope and Contents
Charles Battiest wrote to Senator Fred R. Harris seeking financial assistance to pay his college debts and continue his studies. Senator Harris responded, informing Battiest that the Bureau of Indian Affairs is making a grant to pay his debts for the semester and is conducting a needs analysis for future financial assistance. Senator Harris assured Battiest that the grant for the semester will be made and that further assistance will be provided based on the needs analysis. Senator Harris also mentioned that he had referred Battiest's request for aid for his parents to the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
