Senate Memorandum Regarding Alleged Discrimination in Rapid City Public Schools, 1971-11-11
Scope and Contents
Senator Fred R. Harris sent a letter to Ms. Muriel Waukazoo, Mr. Lehman L. Brightman, and Mr. Caroll C. Swan enclosing a reply from the Bureau of Indian Affairs regarding discrimination against Indian children in Rapid City public schools. The letter from the Bureau stated that they have tried to rectify the situation. Senator Harris expressed hope that improvements have been made and offered further assistance in any matter.
