Scope and Contents

A letter written to Senator Fred R. Harris from Charles A. Taylon in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, requesting government funding to help preserve the Osage language and culture. Taylon explains that a small group of Osage Indians are learning the language with limited resources and support, and expresses a need for a school to teach young people about Osage culture. Taylon also mentions the importance of preserving other aspects of Osage traditions before they are lost forever.
